Well, it looks like Livejournal may be going belly up sometime soon so I'm going to be moving over here to Vox just in case. Look for me posting here more often :)
Wow, I haven't even looked at Vox since January.
OOps I guess the automatic update feed thing for the project 365 totally didn't keep working. haha If you're interested, you can check out where I am now on my flickr account. I'm Elabeth over there too.
Let's see...since January I quit my old job and opened a yarn store. The store is called Stringtown Yarn & Fiber and it is downtown in a building that is about 150 years old. It totally rocks. Advertising starts the first of July, but already there have been a bunch of customers who just heard about the store from someone here or there and people who were driving by and saw the signs. The store's blog is at www.stringtownyarn.com if you want to look at that.
I've been blogging mostly over at the knitting blog (elabeth.blogspot.com) and mostly with the photos from project 365 over at livejournal. I also recently joined Ravelry and I really really like it. If you knit or crochet you should go check that out and get your name on the invitation list.
Project 365 - Photo #16
I made all of these scarves. They live in the coat closet, and they don't get out as often as they should. I need to remember to grab one once in a while.
Left to right, they are:
-Drop Stitch Scarf made with Trendsetter Segue ribbon yarn
-Branching Out from Knitty made with Brown Sheep Cotton Fleece
-K1P1 Rib Scarf made with Lion Brand Landscapes mostly on my vacation last summer in Colorado when I accidently left the knitting at home and had to find a WalMart in the middle of the night because I was seriously freaking out without the knitting.
-Feather & Fan Scarf made with Noro Kereyon
-My So-Called Scarf made with Manos
-Crochet Scarf from the SNB Crochet book made with Wool Ease
Rental Car of the week. The transmission fluid in my truck STILL leaks out even though they had it in the shop last week for damn near three days. This time they've decided to just replace the whole pump thingie. They had to order a part so they are keeping the truck till sometime next week. At least this one doesn't stink of men's cologne like the last rental car did.
Secretly, Bungee moonlights as a gargoyle.
How long did you guys really think I could go without using a picture of some yarn? I guess the answer is about a week. haha
I've been knitting some today, but I couldn't show what I'm working on because it's a secret swap project so you get to see some of the stash sitting neatly on it's shelf in the yarn room. I only have the one skein of that crazy pink color.
I do. I have a lot of stuff with skulls on it. These are two of my favorite skully things.
I got the sparkly pirate wallet from Jennifer Nakatsu Arntson a few years ago. You can find her on the Austin Craft Mafia website.
The mug is a new purchase I got from an Etsy shop called Circa Ceramics based out of Chicago. Inside it is blue like the outside and has a black dot in the middle of the bottom. It's really heavy and keeps my tea hot for a long time. I love it.
This is my "Little Big Eyes" doll. She's a lower class cousin of Blythe's. She lives in my yarn stash and doesn't have a name. Her eyes can also be blue, green, or pink and look in different directions.
I made this glass bead necklace today. I've been thinking about making one ever since I saw a similar necklace in a jewelry store for $50.
Total cost of materials was maybe $6, and I have enough beads left over for three more so really I guess more like $2. It took me about 30 minutes to assemble.
I love my shiney crockpot. I like how you can just throw a bunch of stuff in there, turn it on, and come back to soup or roast or whatever. What can I say? I'm totally lazy so it appeals to me.
Today I made this amazingly tasty soup/stew stuff.
Vegans avert your eyes!
- 2lbs "Diet Lean Stew Meat" (which is diced beef)
- 1 packet of Lipton Recipe Secrets Beefy Onion soup mix
- 1 can of Tomato Soup + 1 can of water
- A bunch of cut up carrots and potatoes. Just put however many you want.
- 4 big splashes of Worcestershire Sauce
- Garlic powder or 1 clove of crushed garlic
Put everything in the crockpot. Stir it up good. Turn it on High for 1 hour, then turn it down to Low for another 4-5 hours or just turn it on Low to start with and leave it all day while you're at work or class or wherever it is you go.
It isn't great to look at, but it sure is tasty.
Ian added some hot sauce to his bowl, but he adds hot sauce to everything so yeah. I think it's great as-is.

I still like LiveJournal better... but I agree, it's good to have a backup plan. The cross posting is pretty... read more
