What are your resolutions for 2007?
Oh god..same crap as every year, right?
- Eat more healthy stuff and less crappy stuff. I'm less enthusiastic about the You On A Diet thing than I was at the start. A lot of that food is just horrible. GAH! So, yeah I'd probably be more healthy but I'd be so fucking cranky that nobody would want to spend any time with me and I'd probably not want to even spend time with myself so that is right out the window. I'm just going to try to make better choices when I can and then still eat junk food once in a while. I figure 80/20 ratio good stuff to junk and I'll be OK
- Get some damn exercise already. I'm not known for my athletic abilities or abs of steel and I never will be, but it would be nice to be able to climb stairs again without getting all out of breath. Since I quit roller derby I have been a total couch slug over here. That needs to stop.
- Finish more knitting and general crafty projects. I'm really bad about starting stuff and not finishing it or buying supplies for a project and not ever even starting the project.
- Organize the yarn room and keep it that way. I've done this before and I always fall back into the trap of putting stuff in the floor or on the desk "just for now because I'm in a hurry"
- Organize the closet and dressers in the bedroom and don't let the pile of stuff accumulate again. Same as with the yarn room. We throw clothes on the floor or make piles of papers on the dressers and just in general we're totally slobby in there. We also both have a lot of clothes that are totally too messed up to wear or that don't fit anymore and that we just need to get rid of so that is part of it too.
- Take more photos. I'm that girl who goes on vacation to some fabulous place and comes back with nothing but photos of the airport and my hotel room because I forgot to take pics of anything else while I was having fun. I'd like to stop that and think to take the camera out of my bag when good stuff is going on.
What are your plans for the holiday weekend?
Well, today I took Ian to get his eyes examined and then I spent $200 on some new glasses for him. While we waited for his glasses to be ready we walked around the mall, got food at the food court etc. Later we all went out to an early dinner, then came home and sat around watching tv. Basicly we just wasted the day other than the eyeglasses business.
I'm probably going to work on crafty things tomorrow and Monday.
I have a lot of stuff going on in that area. I've been working on some more dye projects.
This is the second batch of crockpot dyed roving. It is darker than the first batch, and it doesn't have any blue in it. You can't really tell by these photos, but there are hints of orange and yellow.
This is some handspun, navajo plied white smooshy yarn that I dyed with several different concentrations of blue dye. I like how it turned out.
I'm getting a drum carder. I already ordered it, and it should be here in a week or two. Getting to play around with my friend Mary's carder the other night just put the nail in my coffin. I'm hooked.
Back to the topic of this question, haha - I'm going to mostly try to finish this shawl that has been on the triloom since I got it back in the spring. I ran out of this colorway of craptastic acrylic yarn, and had to stop until I could locate some more. I found it a couple weeks ago at Hobby Lobby, so I really need to get it done. I have a new, nice handspun shawl planned for this loom as soon as this thing is off the nails.
What are the 5 words that best describe your life right now?

Ian, Steve, Cats, Spinning, and Headaches
What's one thing that you'd like to get done this weekend? Is there anything holding you back?
I'd like to get the new spinning wheel stained and put together. The only thing holding me back is my shitty migraine headache problem. I had another one today. I guess I wasn't fully over the one I had on Wednesday when I went back to work in the heat on Thursday. I felt pretty tired and crappy last night. I still felt pretty crappy when I got up this morning, but I thought I was OK at first. I wasn't. I almost passed out in the shower, then couldn't see out of my left eyeball for a while. I took my pill and spent the rest of the day on the couch sleeping and mostly listening to bad lifetime channel tv movies because I couldn't see the tv that well, and because I couldn't get up to locate the channel changing remote. I feel kind of better now...better enough to get up and walk around and have the lights on and I can see well enough to read on the computer, but my typing ability is sucking, and I keep dropping things, so if that doesn't clear up by tomorrow I may not get the wheel stained or put together till next week. We'll see how I am when I wake up. bleh.
What's your favorite drink or cocktail? What's in it?

Gin & Tonic. Duh...it has some gin and some tonic and sometimes a little lime squirt, but that is not required.
What's one thing that you hope to do or accomplish before the end of this year?
I would really like to lose about 30 pounds before the end of this year. So far, I've lost 5 and hit the world's biggest plateau. I think my metabolism has realized I'm not in my 20's anymore so I'll actually have to do some exercise if I want to get rid of the fatness. This sucks, because I kind of hate pointless exercise. If I'm playing a sport or doing something fun or walking to a destination that is one thing, but going around a track or going nowhere on the treadmill is super boring.
What's the one CD that will totally remind you of the Summer of 2006
Probably this one. It's in the car all the time, and It makes me bouncy-happy to listen to it. They're currently riding their bikes across the US, which I also think is very cool.
When did you first realize that you were ___________? Was it a positive or negative experience?

I realized I was blank soon after trying to come up with a word to fill in this question
